It's been a loooooooooooong time, almost 3 months since I've been active, and let me apologize for that first and foremost. I'm sorry about my long absence from the guild and my duties. I wanted to post about the change in my situation that is now going to allow me to play more often as well as the change in the K-ching deal I have for the guild and a few other things.
So, let me start by (maybe) saying something that people (might) already know. around April i got promoted from Produce to Deli which came with a pay increase as well as more hours. Shortly after that I sprained my ankle, which forced me to end the K-ching deal for a long amount of time. My ankle got better, however things at work got crazy. Another co-worker of mine broke her kneecap and sprained her ankle (on different legs somehow) and she has still to recover fully and get back to work (hopefully she'll be back soon, she's in physical therapy right now). Not only this but another co-worker in the Meat department Got fired for being late too often. Now this might not seem like a big issue, except that both departments are horribly understaffed.
So for the months of May and June I was essentially working two departments every single day, and getting called in almost every single day i had off. We've even had to resort to calling people from neighboring stores to work to cover people. During this time my health went downhill, but i never called out sick (there were many days were i certainly should have too) and hence i spent most of my free time sleeping or dealing with family matters.
Within this window of being understaffed both of my Grandparents passed away, it fell on me and my parents to organize the funeral service and similar things. I had to tell my workplace that for three days i would be gone for a funeral out of town, and i almost wasn't allowed to go to my own grandparents funeral because there weren't enough workers (they would have to shut down a department for those 3 days i was gone). Thankfully they found a worker for the Meat room and let me go in July. Shortly after I returned we got another worker for the Deli department (where I work) and now i'm back to working my normal 30-37 hours a week.
However that's not the only news, my grandparents were kind enough to leave behind their old Condominium (a halfway between a house and apartment) to me in their last will, next week I will be moving out of my parent's home to live there for the foreseeable future, with the possibility of gaining a roommate.
However this isn't even the best news, and before i get into the good part I want to thank Rith deeply, for if I had not joined this guild my life would be drastically different! Because of Rith I met a very kind and fun girl who i can call my girlfriend, and we've spent almost every waking moment together since i had to leave for so long. Her username is CodeBlanche and she has been as absent as me for her own reasons, we have been in a long-distance relationship for some time now and she's even coming to visit me in my new home in September. I feel like our relationship is going to last a very long time, possibly even forever, and so for the eternal happiness this guild and Rith has given me I want to thank you all, and apologize yet again for being gone for so long.
One last thing:
If anyone is still around from before i had to take a break they know i like my raffles, however I've noticed as well that the guild is having an activity problem so i want to pose a challenge and a reward for the whole guild.
